Plot Summary

Sock manufacturer August Lampaanpää finds himself in financial difficulties due to the upkeep of his girlfriend Kyllikki Mattler, appeasing his wife, and opposing his daughter Vappu's plans to marry car mechanic Manne Hietikko.
