Plot Summary

A cement worker nicknamed Ah Chuen is unexpectedly cast as the male lead in a New Wave film, catapulting him to overnight stardom. Stumbling into fame without any acting experience, he struggles on set but finds guidance from his co-star, popular actress Fong Ching-lung, and unknowingly falls for her — mistaking a scripted kiss for genuine affection. When his film becomes a box office hit, a renowned director recruits him for a Wong Fei-hung period drama, but his poor performance leads to a humiliating downfall. Seeking comfort in Fong Ching-lung, he discovers she only sees him as a friend — and that she has a former lover. With his dreams of stardom shattered and his heart broken, Ah Chuen makes the decision to leave the entertainment industry and return to life as a cement worker.
