Plot Summary

Young farmer’s daughter Johanna Lambert works as a maid to support her struggling family. No one suspects that a hidden treasure lies beneath the Lambert family’s woodland: crude oil. Only Richard, the son of neighboring wealthy landowner Wilhelm Pape, knows the truth and dreams of a future with Johanna. Their forbidden love is put to the test when the ruthless oil trader Tyler Robertson arrives, sparking a bitter struggle for power and wealth. Driven by greed, Wilhelm Pape stops at nothing: betrayal, deceit, and the expropriation of the Lamberts push the village to the brink of collapse.
