Plot Summary

What emerged from the shining bamboo was a naked girl. Taketori's grandfather and grandmother decide to raise her as their daughter. Eventually, she grows up beautifully and becomes a presence that arouses the lust of the men of the town, but she has a secret that she can't tell anyone.
