Plot Summary

The Best Laid Plans is a film about what it takes to be a traveling professional surfer living on the East Coast. It is a documentary/surf action hybrid that highlights not just the best surfing on the East Coast but the pursuit behind catching fickle and difficult to predict swells through each of our diverse seasons. As the seasons change throughout the film, character portraits of the movie's main surfers offer a behind the scenes look at the challenges endured by these athletes to catch waves up and down the east coast as well as abroad.
