Plot Summary

Fanomenon follows rural retail worker Suzie as she goes on a quest to meet her hero, a fictional space explorer. She journeys through the world of science-fiction fandom, and discovers much more than she is looking for. Middle-aged women make up a large yet inconspicuous community of fans. Fanomenon explores their culture, their creative pursuits, and why they need heroes.
