Herbert, an established businessman, Karlmann, the distinguished son of upper-class parents, and Albert, a sturdy sailor, overcame all social barriers to live out their passion for tattoos together. At a time when tattoos were ostracized and frowned upon, when tattooed people were considered outsiders and criminals.
