Plot Summary

When, at the age of eleven, Marie Caillaud entered Nohant in the service of George Sand, she did not yet know that she would be called Marie des Poules, the servant who fetched the eggs from the henhouse. She does not know either that she will learn there to read, write, play comedy and interpret 35 plays written by George Sand. She knows even less that she will experience the suffering of a love that will mark her for life... What will be the incredible destiny of Marie des Poules?
